The Bear's Story

MARKS ALBUM

[Picture Right: ANZAC Day 25/04/03]

Waking up in the morning the day was so calm and still, the trees across from the house were not moving.  We decided to catch a train down the bay [Port Phillip Bay] and bike along the coastal bike path back into Melbourne.  Mark is pictured here at the start of the ride at Mordialloc Pier, south of Melbourne.

One of the good things about Melbourne is the Cafes and Restaurants.  One of the reasons for a bike ride is to have a coffee or lunch and take in the view.

Picture Left: St Kilda Marina 22/04/03]

We both like to  go for long walks, a beautiful Melbourne autumn day saw us out for about four hours, a frequent walk is along the foreshore of the bay.  Not only are the marine views great but the mammals when out are very WOOFY.

[Picture Left: Provincetown 27/12/00]

Mark had long service leave at the end of 2000, something peculiar to Australia and dating back to going back to England after having looking after the convicts.  Mike caught up with Mark in New York for Xmas and then went onto Provincetown for some together quiet time.

Mr August - August 2002

The Laird hotel during the autumn / winter of 2002 were running a fortnightly BARE CHEST COMPETITION.  The winner getting the chance of a photo shoot and being the chest on the Month page.  Mike had been at me to go in the competition for weeks, to finally stop the encouragement I entered.  When they announced the winner I was wondering why the guy along from me wasn't moving until I realized they were announcing my name.

Mark is pictured here on a copy his page from the calendar - Mr. AUGUST.  The calendar can be purchased from the Laird Hotel with all proceeds going to charity.
