Home has been
Melbourne since May 1986 and I became a fair dinkum Aussie doing the
'citizenship thing' with Mark in 1994. So the "green and
gold' teams have another supporter, especially in contests with anything
English. You'll also hear me shouting the lungs off for our local
rugby league team the
Melbourne Storm having been members since inception in 1998. Premiers
in 1999 and 2007 - GO STORM!!
Originally
hailing from London, I was born in Fulham, the eldest of six kids,
three boys and three girls. I migrated in 1974 to Wellington,
New Zealand for ten pounds leaving the rest of the family in England, you
'll find most of them around the Hounslow/ Heathrow area. I figured
that I could last the distance of two years, which is what you had to stay
before paying you fare back. If I didn't like it, the plan was
to travel back overland and do the Thailand, India thing as most Kiwis and
Aussies did on their trip to Europe. You figured it out, I stayed!
In a small
city like Wellington of what was then 250,000 it's hard to imagine that
the paths of Mark and I didn't cross in ten years, that was until 1984, we
started setting up house almost immediately. We have been together
since, the sceptics gave us four weeks, if you do the sums I think we have
proved them wrong. Like any other couple we have had the experiences
that life dishes out, but from it we have our stories, which like anyone,
you just have to laugh or cry. I am fortunate that from it, I have
also gained my best friend, soul mate and lover to continue the journey,
check some of the story and you'll
also find out more about Mark here.
Originally a
chef I went to Hotel School at Ealing in London and have had many
experiences in a range of roles within industry, there are a
few stories if you have a few minutes. I have recently been in
Education running
the Hospitality & Tourism Department at a University here in Melbourne, but since the beginning of April 2006
have been in Business Development.
